Two costly cars set on fire in Khadki area

Pune: Two costly cars parked outside a businessman’s bungalow in Khadki were set on fire by three unidentified persons in the early hours of Tuesday. Hitesh Parekh (29) lodged an FIR with Khadki police station stating that the damage has caused a loss of Rs 78 lakh. 

According to the police, the incident took place at 1.30 am on Tuesday outside Parekh’s bungalow on Elphinstone Road in Khadki. A CCTV footage shows three persons pouring some inflammable substance and then setting the cars on fire.

A nearby furniture shop also caught fire. Out of the two cars, the Porsche car belonged to his friend who had come to meet him. The Alto car belonged to Parekh. 

Soon, after the incident, the fire brigade of Khadki Cantonment Board and local police were informed. Police Sub Inspector MA Kamble is investigating the case.
