Two booked for vandalising furniture at police chowki

One of the accused was arrested while the other is at large. 

Pune: Two persons were booked for vandalising furniture at Ramnagar police chowki under Warje Malwadi police station on Wednesday night. One of the accused was arrested while the other is at large. 

The accused were identified as James Waghmare and Vitthal Padwal, both residents of Ramnagar in Warje Malwadi. 

They allegedly broke the glass of a table place in the corridor of the police chowki. They had gone there to register a complaint and got irked when they did not find any cop inside the police chowki. 

Bajirao Mole, Police Inspector, Warje Malwadi police station said, “The accused came to the police chowki after they indulged in a brawl with some people in their area. When they didn’t find anyone inside the police chowki they were enraged and broke the glass of a table.” 

“These accused are habitual offenders and are used to physical violence in Ramnagar area,” he said. 

Mole said that the police have arrested Padwal and will arrest Waghmare soon. 

The police have registered a case for damaging public property and under other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code against both the accused.
