Pune: The principal of Tree House School, Magarpatta City, has been booked for cheating after she allegedly accepted admission fee in her account, besides furniture and other material to start her own school.
As per an FIR registered on Friday, the principal, Chitralekha Vikram Singh Chauhan, a resident of Amanora Park Town, Hadapsar, has been charged with cheating and criminal breach of trust. Pranav Prasad, an accountant with Happy To Help Global Foundation, Aundh, lodged the complaint in this regard.

According to the police, due to financial problems, the foundation had taken over the Tree House schools (Marvel Kids) to run them for 10 years. The cheating came to light in October this year.

“I and our additional director Suraj Manglani had gone to the school for inspection on October 12. Two parents approached us and asked if the school is being shifted. We denied it and sought the reason for asking such a question. They told us that the principal had taken Rs 17,000 and Rs 10,000 from them as admission fee for their kids in her new school nearby, as Tree House school will be shifted. When we investigated, we found Chauhan had deposited the Rs 27,000 in her account. Also, she had taken 33 chairs, four blackboards and other furniture. We found these items in a nearby bungalow, which she had taken on rent for starting a new school,” states the FIR. Chauhan could not be reached for her comments.
