Traffic plan to continue with changes

PUNE: Following the positive response received by the Hinjawadi police for implementation of the circular one-way traffic route, the Hinjawadi police will continue the temporary traffic arrangement till September 24. The police have also included minor changes in the circular traffic plan. The Hinjawadi traffic division has accepted suggestions and objections from people after a week of implementation of the circular traffic plan.

As per Hinjawadi traffic police plan, the circular route at Shivaji Chowk-Infosys Circle-Geometric Circle-Mezza 9 Chowk-Shivaji Chowk was made one-way to reduce traffic congestion at Shivaji Chowk.

Commuters heading towards Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park had to take a compulsory left turn from Shivaji Chowk and right from Infosys Circle till Geometric Chowk.

Similarly, commuters heading from Bhumkar Chowk could not take a right turn at Shivaji Chowk and had to head straight towards Infosys Circle till the Geometric Circle.

Following suggestions from the locals, the median puncture at Jambhulkar Gym is been kept open for movement of locals. The police have also allowed U-turn at Shivaji Chowk for vehicles heading from Bhumkar Chowk towards Shivaji Chowk. The police will also not allow a right turn at Mezza 9 Chowk.

Five median punctures between Shivaji Chowk and Wipro Phase I Circle, median punctures between Wipro Phase 1 Circle to Geometric Circle, median punctures between Mezza 9 Chowk to Shivaji Chowk have been closed down by the police. Vehicles coming from Maan village towards Shivaji Chowk will have to take a left turn at Wipro Phase 1 Circle.

Additional Commissioner of Police Makarand Ranade has appealed to people to submit their suggestions and objections at his office near Autocluster, Science Park in Pimpri till September 24.
