Pune: Officials of the Traffic Department have suggested diversions and parking arrangements in the city on September 12 and 13 as a large number of people and mandals are expected to buy Ganesh idols from the markets.
The diversions will be applicable from 6 am to midnight. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Tejaswi Satpute said that adequate police personnel will be deployed to manage the traffic during Ganesh festival.
The police said that in case of any emergency, the traffic police can close any road and citizens should follow the directions given by them. Sign boards will be used to suggest traffic diversions.
The police have appealed to people to give way to ambulances and vehicles of the fire brigade while plying in the city.
