Traffic control room inaugurated in PCMC

“The enforcement team of traffic police will send SMS to traffic offenders and also send them notices at their homes. Similarly, people buying used vehicles should check for whether the vehicle has pending cases against it,” added Padmanabhan.

Pune: Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissioner RK Padmanabhan has advised people buying a used vehicle to verify whether there are any pending cases against such vehicles. He was speaking at the inauguration of traffic police control room of Pimpri Chinchwad at Bhujbal Chowk near Wakad bridge, on Wednesday.

The place was vacant after the Wakad police station was shifted from the location to the newly-built location in Thergaon. Police have now setup traffic management and traffic regulation teams at the control room. The traffic management team will continuously coordinate with traffic police to manage and smoothen the traffic in Pimpri-Chinchwad area while the traffic regulation team will send notices to people involved in traffic violations. 

Police Chief RK Padmanabhan has sent a strong message to people involved in traffic violation that the traffic police officials will deal with traffic offenders with iron hands. “The enforcement team of traffic police will send SMS to traffic offenders and also send them notices at their homes. Similarly, people buying used vehicles should check for whether the vehicle has pending cases against it,” added Padmanabhan.

The control room will look after areas of Hinjawadi, Bhosari, Nigdi, Pimpri, Chinchwad, Sangvi, Alandi, Dighi, Talegaon and Chakan.
 
The Police Chief has asked all police officials to work in coordination with people to control law and order in the city. A force of 400 officials including 11 police inspectors, 222 policemen and 145 traffic wardens has been dedicated to the traffic department.
