TISS, SIILC sign agreement to start Agri Business Management diploma

Pune: The prestigious educational institute, Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) and SIMACES International Interdisciplinary Learning Centre (SIILC) working in the field of skill development and entrepreneurship have come together to sign an agreement to kick-start ‘Post Graduate Diploma in Agri Business Management.’

This agreement between the two prestigious institutes will help reduce the gap between industry and education.

The students completing this course will be awarded diploma certificate by TISS University.

TISS is a premier institute involved in imparting education for last 53 years. Similarly, Sakal Media Group through SIILC is conducting several courses for skill development.

Till date, more than 20,000 students have completed several courses run by SIILC. Many industries like fertiliser, seeds, pesticides, water conservation, tissue culture, agricultural appliances are dependent on the agriculture sector. As all these industries require skilled manpower, the students having required skills stand a chance of getting good jobs.

To create skilled manpower for these industries, ‘SIILC has launched Agri Business Management’ course.

The application process for the same has already started. Graduates having a degree in agricultural science or any other subject and having interest in pursuing a career in the agricultural sector may apply for the course.

The course gives emphasis on practicals and on the job training will be mandatory for all students. The students completing this course will be employment ready after completion of the course.

The course will adhere to international standards of education.
As a part of this course, the students will get industrial training of 680 hours in agriculture or allied sectors.

The evaluation will be done by the experts at TISS. The application forms are available on SIILC website.
