Three persons injured in a leopard attack

Pune: Three persons were injured in three different incidents of leopard attack on Thursday evening in Otur village of Pune district.

According to information given by Vishal Adgale of Otur forest department, around 6.30 pm two persons Tausif Shaikh and Noormohammad Shaikh were going on a two-wheeler when they were attacked by a leopard while they were passing from Gaimukhwadi area. Noormohammad Shaikh was injured in the incident and was rushed to Otur primary care centre by the locals.

Similarly, in the second incident, a two-wheeler rider Sandeep Shinde was attacked by a leopard in the same area around 7 pm. Minutes later one Deepak Urkide and her sister Asha Kumkar were on their way home when they were attacked by a leopard. Vishal said that the Asha was injured as the leopard bit her. Deepak was injured after he fell from the two-wheeler. Deepak and Asha were also taken for treatment at Otur health care centre. The injured will be taken to YCM Hospital for vaccination. Meanwhile, officials of forest department were trying to locate the leopard.
