Three nabbed for theft of valuables

According to RPF, “Munnalal Harinarayan Katta (55), a resident of Jaipur, Rajasthan, was travelling along with wife by train number 11025 Kolhapur-Mumbai Sahyadri Express on coach number A 1, berth number 11 and 12. They booked their ticket from Hatkanangale to Lonavla. On June 24, at around 6.10 am when the train arrived at platform number 2, there was a theft of a purse containing gold, diamond ornaments, cash, mobile, documents, etc, with total value of Rs 7.20 lakh by unknown person at Pune junction.”

Pune: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Pune division, on Sunday night, arrested three persons for allegedly stealing valuables worth Rs 7.20 lakh. The incident took place on June 24 at platform number 2 on Pune Station when the victim and his wife were travelling by Sahyadri Express.

Being a high-value theft case, two teams under the supervision of Assistant Security Commissioner BK Makraria, Inspector SV Kamble and Inspector of Crime Intelligence Branch S Chate were deployed by D Vikas, Divisional Security Commissioner of RPF, Pune, to solve the case.

“Through crime intelligence and information collected by the team, they identified the trio. The accused confessed,” said D Vikas.
