Three held for roughing up cops in police station

Pune: Three persons including two women were arrested by Dighi police on Saturday for roughing up cops inside the police station.

The accused who came to register a complaint ended up attacking two police constables including a woman constable. The accused were identified as Sunanda Walke (48), Sonu Walke (29) and Swapnil Walke (27), all residents of Dighi. Sunanda Walke was the mother of other two accused.

The accused who came to register a complaint ended up attacking two police constables including a woman constable. The accused were identified as Sunanda Walke (48), Sonu Walke (29) and Swapnil Walke (27), all residents of Dighi. Sunanda Walke was the mother of other two accused.

According to the Dighi police station, on Saturday morning Sunanda Walke came to the police station to register a complaint against her son Swapnil Walke. The three accused who stay together had a dispute with each other over property. On Saturday morning they fought with each other at their home, after which the mother approached the police station along with her daughter Sonu Walke to register a complaint against her son. Later Swapnil Walke reached the police station to file a counter-complaint against his mother.

The police said that after reaching the police station the three continued their quarrel. When a lady constable and a male constable intervened, they were attacked by the trio. All three were booked under section 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) of the Indian Penal Code.
