Three dead, five hurt in accident on expressway

According to Kamshet police, all eight from Mumbai were on their way to Pune to attend a friend’s wedding.

Pune: Three persons were killed while five others were injured in a mishap on the Mumbai-Pune expressway on Wednesday. A case in this regard has been registered at Kamshet police station.

The deceased have been identified as Nitin Jinwal, 22, a native of Punjab who was presently residing at Gyaneshwar Nagar in Virar; Nikhil Rao, 28, a resident of Kurla, Mumbai and Siddhesh Bede, 28, a resident of Virar. While those injured are Akshay Chavan, 26, a resident of Kurla; Vaibhavi Sudrik, 23, a resident of Virar; Jayshree Rathod, 23, a resident of Bhandup; Rupesh Jadhav, 26 and one other person whose identity is unknown. 

According to the information provided by Kamshet police, all eight from Mumbai were on their way to Pune to attend a friend’s wedding. While they reached near Kamshet tunnel, the driver noticed a truck parked on the side of the road. In order to avoid the hit into the truck, driver Akshay Chavan lost control over the car which toppled down. The car was at high speed and the driver lost control over it.
