Pune: Sakal Tourism Expo organised Sakal Media Group was inaugurated by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Chief Raj Thackeray on Friday.
The expo that provides the tourists with over 300 tour options by more than 30 tourism companies, in India as well as abroad, will be open to tourists till Sunday, July 29. Thackeray offered his best wishes to the expo and said that maximum people should take advantage of the options and offers. Rakesh Malhotra, Business Head of Sakal, Pune and the representatives of the participating companies were also present.
The sponsor of this exhibition is Master Tours Organiser Pvt Ltd and the co-sponsors are Captain Nilesh Gaikwad and Girikand Travels.
Dr Vishwas Kelkar, President of the Travel Agents Association of Pune said, “Sakal Expo has presented the travellers and people with many appropriate options and due to the participation of renowned and popular tourism companies, people will be able to avail of packages with good facilities within their budgets.”
While Sakal has organised tourism expos in the past, the main and new attraction of this expo is the ‘Tourist Katta’ wherein the tourists can share their experiences and knowledge with each other.
On the first day, Anand Rajashirke spoke on the subject of ‘Narmada Parikrama’, while Madhukar Potdar spoke on ‘Tamil Nadu Panchatatva Temples’ and ‘Dubai’, followed by Jaywant Datar speaking on the ‘Unseen New Zealand’ in the Tourist Katta.
Vilas Bhand of Master Tour Organiser, one of the sponsors of the expo, said, “This is a great experience, we are getting a very good response from the people and have already received bookings from walk-in tourists. We are expecting much more crowd to flow in over the weekend.”
Akhilesh Joshi, Director, Girikand Travels said, “A variety of domestic as well as foreign travel options is our speciality. In the expo, we are offering a discount of up to Rs 3,000 under the programme ‘Spin to Win’. I am sure the tourists will love our foreign tour packages.”
Another sponsor of the expo Captian Nilesh Gaikwad, Director of the tourism company Captian Nilesh Gaikwad said that the company has been organising Andaman tours for past 10 years, and will soon reach the milestone of 1 lakh tourists.
“To promote mythological tourism, we also offer Bali tour packages,” Gaikwad said. “We have many options of domestic as well as foreign tour packages available with us and the tourists will be able to do direct booking at the expo itself. The people booking at the expo will also get a chance to avail more offers and discounts,” Jhelam Choubal, Director, Kesari Tours said.
