Three break-ins reported in Warje, Kothrud areas

Pune: Three separate incidents of break-ins were reported in the jurisdiction area of Warje and Kothrud police stations.

In the first incident, unknown thieves entered a flat in Swati Sadan building at Warje on Saturday in broad daylight and made away with cash and ornaments worth Rs 2 lakh.

According to Warje police, the thieves broke into the flat of Archana Vaze after breaking the lock of the main door. They entered the bedroom of her flat and fled with cash and ornaments.

The second incident took place at Prasanna Garden Society at Shivteerth Nagar in Kothrud on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday. According to the complainant, Surekh Bhagwat, 57, the thieves broke into the house during the night and made away with cash and ornaments worth Rs 8 lakh.

The thieves also tried to break open another flat in the society, but couldn’t succeed in their attempt.

In the third incident, unknown thieves burgled the flat at Vrindavan Society in Kothrud and made away with silver ornaments worth Rs 4,000.

According to the Kothrud police, after carrying out the theft at the house of complainant Dipti Bhalerao, 31, the thieves also tried to burgle six other flats in the society, but did not succeed.
