Three arrested for sexually abusing 19-yr-old transgender

Pune: Three men were arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a 19-year-old transgender after kidnapping her on the night of June 17 in Vadgaon Budruk on Sinhgad Road. Cops are searching for the fourth accused in the case.

The victim who resides in Upper Indira Nagar had gone to meet her friend in Deccan area. While returning she went to get food from Sinhagad Road, when the accused persons accosted her around 9 pm.

The incident took place in a guava orchard near a nala. “The accused persons abused and assaulted her. They threatened to kill her and dragged her to the spot where the three men had sex with her. Hearing the commotion, a fourth man came there.  The victim thought that he would save her, but this man also sexually abused her,” a police officer told Sakal Times.

After the victim approached Sinhagad Road police station, an FIR was registered and her medical examination was conducted. “The delay in filing the case was due to the medical test,” the officer added.

The police arrested three men identified as Rahul Machhindra Kamble (19) of Manikbaug in Vadgaon Budruk, Monya alias Monish Manav Mazumdar (21) of Dhayari and Sonya alias Pradip Sunil Kamble (19) of Vadgaon Budruk.

They were charged for offences under sections 377 (unnatural sexual offences), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Assistant Police Inspector Devendra Shinde is investigating the case.
