Thieves steal ornaments worth Rs 2.12L

Pune: Unidentified persons broke into an apartment in Khadki police station area on Friday and made away with ornaments worth Rs 2. 12 lakh.  The theft took place at flat no 12 located in Devi Lotus building at Bhau Patil Road in Bopodi, which belongs to Zubin Joseph.

After robbing Joseph’s house, thieves also tried to unsuccessfully break into two other flats of neighbouring Royal Orchid Society, said the police.

After robbing Joseph’s house, thieves also tried to unsuccessfully break into two other flats of neighbouring Royal Orchid Society, said the police.

The Khadki police said the robbers were present in the flat from 8 am to 4.30 pm. The complainant was out for work at the time and discovered the theft when he returned in the evening.

The thieves gained access to the flat by cutting the grill of the safety door and then opened the lock of the main door. They entered the flat and opened the almirah and made away with the ornaments. The police have registered a case against unidentified persons.
