PIMPRI: The MahaMetro has issued tenders for laying tracks on the Dapodi-Pimpri route of the metro project. MahaMetro Managing Director Dr Brijesh Dixit here said the metro work on this route will be completed before the end of 2019.
Dixit told mediapersons that the work of laying tracks on the Dapodi-Pimpri route will commence within the next three to four months. He added that 40 per cent of the metro project work has been completed since the work was launched two years back.
MahaMetro’s other senior officials, including Shivnathan, Gautam Birhade, Rajan Prasad, Ramnath Subramaniam and Dr Hemant Sonawane, were also present at the press conference.
The work of constructing metro stations at Sant Tukaram Nagar and two other sites has been undertaken, Dixit said.
The Metro has received a land near the Vallabhabh Nagar State Transport Corporation Depot to establish an electrical sub-station for the metro.
Dixit also added that the Metro will develop parking facilities near Pimpri, Vallabh Nagar, Phugewadi, Nashik Phata and at the College of Military Engineering at Dapodi. The work for this will commence soon, he said.
