Tempo driver robbed by fake police

Following the incident, the victim lodged a case of theft and impersonation at Indapur police station.

Pune: A tempo driver lost Rs 1.35 lakh which was stolen from him by three persons who pretended to be police officials on Wednesday morning on Akluj-Indapur Road.

The tempo driver complained to Indapur police that three persons pretended to be police officials and asked him to stop his tempo, following which the suspects started searching the tempo and stole the cash before leaving the spot at Bhalewasti. Following the incident, the victim lodged a case of theft and impersonation at Indapur police station. Police Inspector S Hankare is investigating the case.
