Technical report regarding proposed airport site next month

Pune: Following the Indian Air Force (IAF) raising technical objections in connection with the proposed site of Purandar International Airport, the Airport Authority of India (AAI) will prepare a report and submit to the IAF next month, said Pune District Collector Saurabh Rao on Tuesday.

The State government had announced that the International Airport would come up in Purandar taluka. However, the IAF raised some objections on technical grounds. Following this, AAI has started the process for re-survey. 

Pune: Following the Indian Air Force (IAF) raising technical objections in connection with the proposed site of Purandar International Airport, the Airport Authority of India (AAI) will prepare a report and submit to the IAF next month, said Pune District Collector Saurabh Rao on Tuesday.

The State government had announced that the International Airport would come up in Purandar taluka. However, the IAF raised some objections on technical grounds. Following this, AAI has started the process for re-survey. 

Rao said, “The meeting was held with Minister of Defence for State on two occasions about IAF  raising concern on some technical issues about the proposed site.” Rao said the AAI will analyse the technical concerns and would prepare a detailed report. Once the report is submitted, another meeting will be convened, said Rao. 

He added that a detailed project report is being made and after seeking final approval from the IAF, the process for land acquisition would start.
