Swachh Pune-Swachh Bharat holds mega drive

Pune: Swachh Pune-Swachh Bharat (SPSB) organised a mega cleanliness and beautification drive at major junctions, walls, pillars of major flyovers and tekdis (hills) of the city on Monday on the occasion of the third anniversary of Swachh Bharat Mission.

Puneet Sharma,  Founder of SPSB, said, “Along with the cleanliness and beautification drive, we felicitated 9,000 conservancy workers of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) with a certificate which was submitted to the PMC office 
earlier.”

The NGOs and citizen groups collaborated with SPSB including Global Shapers, Diya Foundation, Project Nelda, Let’s Rise, Loyolites group, Tuba Foundation, Sare Jahan Se Acha and Tara Foundation participated in the areas like- Magarpatta crossroad, Savitribai Phule Pune University crossroad, Deccan crossroads, 1.5 km wall at Airport Road, Hanuman Hill behind Fergusson College and Taljai Hill located 4 kilometres from Swargate bus-stand. A flash mob was conducted by the members of SPSB and students of Bharati Vidyapeeth at Pune railway station from 7 to 10 am.

Priti Raja, Member of Sare Jahan Se Acha held a campaign named ‘Spit-free India’ in collaboration with SPSB. Jitendra Chaouksey, Founder of Squats Fitness, said, “Our team participated in painting the Airport Road wall which is approximately a stretch of 400-500 metres with abstract and 
modern art.”
