SUV of builder’s son attacked

Based on a complaint from builder Shekhar Binawat’s son Nilesh (25), a FIR regarding attempt to murder has been registered against Tipu Pathan and his gang members from Sayyed Nagar, Hadapsar.

PUNE: The son of a builder had a narrow escape when a gang led by a notorious goon chased his SUV and fired three rounds around 1 am on Handewadi Road. To save himself, he stopped the SUV at a police chowky. Police said that there was a brawl between the two groups a few hours before the incident.

Based on a complaint from builder Shekhar Binawat’s son Nilesh (25), a FIR regarding attempt to murder has been registered against Tipu Pathan and his gang members from Sayyed Nagar, Hadapsar.

According to police, around 10.45 pm, a group of Binawat’s friends and relatives were smoking in Lane no.17 of Sayyed Nagar when they were assaulted by Pathan’s accomplices. Later, more relatives of Binawat reached there with sharp weapons and created terror in the area. Meanwhile, police reached there and caught Vivek Gondavat, Satish Gondavat, Ganesh Kachravat among others. An FIR was registered against them. 

Around midnight, Pathan and his accomplices broke into builder’s bungalow and assaulted Nilesh. Thinking that the goons would have left, Nilesh drove out in the SUV trying to go to a safe place. However, Pathan chased him and fired three rounds. Nilesh stopped only at a police chowky. 

The police have arrested Saddam Salim Pathan (24) of Sayyed Nagar, and search is on for his accomplices.
