Suspect arrested for Deven Shah murder

Pune: The Deccan Gymkhana police on Sunday made the first arrest in the murder case of builder Deven Shah. Ravindra Chorge, a real estate agent, who was wanted in the case, was nabbed in Jalgaon. More arrests are likely to follow.

Deven Shah (56), founder of Ambika Corp, who used to reside at Sayali Apartments in Lane number 7 of Prabhat Road, was shot at around 11 pm on January 13. The accused had sent a person who runs a laundry shop there to call Shah downstairs.

Initially, Shah’s son Atit came downstairs but the duo told him that they had come to meet his father. When Shah arrived downstairs, he was instantly shot at by the assailants. Shah received two bullet injuries and died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
