PUNE: Pune-based Suryadatta Group of Institutes was awarded the ‘Icon of Maharashtra’ award in the field of Education and Missionary Services, by former cricketer and selector Kiran More, renowned numerologist Sanjay Jumaani and Director of WRB Corp, Sanjay Kumar, during an event organised by WRB Corp in Mumbai recently.
According to representatives, the main motive of organising ‘Icon of the Year’ is to recognise the topmost iconic personalities from different industries on the same platform. Suryadatta Group of Institutes has imparted free education to more than 18,000 needy, deserving and underprivileged students in last 18 years, to improve and enhance their lives and to rehabilitate them.
Among the free skill-based and vocational development courses offered are fashion design, bakery and cookery, jewellery design, spices manufacturing, computer literacy programme and English speaking for railway coolies.
“Approximately 900 working employees were awarded scholarship and concession by Suryadatta Group of Institutes to pursue various post graduation courses offered by Savitribai Phule Pune University. Furthermore, various sponsorships and concessional support have been provided for lots of children and adults for various customised skill development programmes,” officials from Suryadatta said.
In addition to this, Suryadatta Group also organises various free of cost medical check-up camps such as blood donation, bone density, diabetic, dental care, eye checkup, cardiac camp and others. Suryadatta also conducts various rallies such as Save the Planet rally, Diabetic rally, Save Water Save Nation rally, AIDS awareness rally, Clean India Health India rally and others.
Considering the immense contribution in education and social service through its Suryadatta Edu Socio Connect Initiative, WRB Corp awarded Sanjay Chordiya of Suryadatta Group as an ‘Icon of Maharashtra’.
