Students showcase their culinary talent on Day 2

PUNE: On the Day 2 of Atithya organised by AISSMS College of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, participants contested in six competitions with enthusiasm.

The competitions started with mind buster quiz SEICCO ‘Match Thy Wits’ where participants were judged on core hospitality and general knowledge.

In Sula - ‘Sell it hard’ judged by Samadhan Yadav, Co-Founder Barcode and Aditya Ghosh, Bar Manager, Four points by Sheraton, Pune, students prepared a beverage card and sold the given spirit with an attractive table display. The other food and beverage service competition was Hypro Group- ‘4th Dimension’ where participants were to plan and draw a restaurant layout based on innovation, neatness and presentation. The judges for this were Chaitanya Peshave, Director, Pesave and Associates and Bhaskar Bhattacharya, Restaurant Operation Manager, Marriott Suites.

The second competition ‘Prakash - Discovery of India’ was about reviving authentic lost recipes of India. For this, judges were Chef Vikram Gakkan, Corporate Chef, Malaka Spice, Pune and Chef Swapnil Sonawane, Executive Chef, Kargo Kitchen and Bar, Pune.

Uttam Caterers - ‘Spice the MICE’ competition was all about planning an event on various themes to choose from. It was judged by Maruti Havaladar, F and B Manager, Crowne Plaza, Pune and Varsha Abhichandani, Assistant Manager - Sales, Crowne Plaza, Pune. 

Rajashree Shahu - Budding Chef competition was about identifying the ingredients used in the recipe depending upon the visual impact of the food.
