Pune: Students seeking admission to class XI are facing problems in giving preferences of junior colleges while filling application forms due to lack of details in the information brochure. Like last year, the brochure this time does not contain details of junior colleges and their branches, due to which parents and students are facing inconvenience.
Students every year receive a brochure from the Directorate of Deputy Education (DyDE), which has information about junior colleges and details about the Centralised Admission Process (CAP).
From the academic year 2018-19, the admission procedure has been started online across Maharashtra. It has been observed that even parents have been participating in form filling process this time. Parents and students are seeking help from their class teachers or those who have knowledge about the procedure.
While giving preferences, students are unable to find a sufficient number of colleges on the list, said some students.
“Last year’s information brochure had content, including the branch-wise details of all colleges and the intake capacity of each college. However, these details are not available this year in the brochure. Moreover, we haven’t got sufficient guidance on filling the forms,” said a parent on condition of anonymity.
“Details of all colleges have been uploaded on the website. So, it isn’t possible that parents and students don’t have access to them. Also, even if a few details are not mentioned in the information brochure, students can visit the 11th admission website to access the PDF for more information such as the intake capacity etc,” said Meenakshi Raut, the Secretary of 11th Admission Committee.
