Student dies of cardiac arrest

Pune: Hrushikesh Aher, a second year commerce student at Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) died of a cardiac arrest on Monday Morning.

Aher was declared dead at the Sasoon Hospital.

Aher felt uneasy early at 6.30 am in the morning. Hearing his shout students in neighbor rooms came running to his room and immediately alerted the security personnel. He was immediately rushed to health centre at SPPU campus. However, as his health started deteriorating and serious condition, doctor at the centre suggested taking him to Sasoon hospital.

Aher had his first paper of the end semester on Monday. Aher hailed from Ahmednagar. He resided in hostel number 4, room number 16.

Meanwhile, after the sudden death of their classmate, students of M.Comm had requested to postpone the exams which were to be held today. Empathising with students' mental state, SPPU Vice-chancellor Nitin Karmalkar has given his consent to postpone today's. It will be conducted at the scheduled date of end of the examination.
