Student booked for forging caste certificate

Pune: A 21-year-old student of DY Patil Institute of Management and Research, Pimpri was booked for forgery and cheating after he allegedly submitted a forged caste certificate to secure admission under the reserved category last year. 

Based on a complaint from college Director Dr Rakesh Dholakia, officials from Pimpri police station booked Kartik Raju of Nagpur. He had allegedly submitted a forged caste certificate issued by Nagpur Deputy Collector for admission in 2017-18. The fraud came to light recently, following which an FIR was lodged.
