Pune: While the admission process for Std XI in the second round of regular admissions in online Centralised Admission Process (CAP) is going on smoothly, the parents are still irked as the helpline numbers provided to aid the students and parents are proving to be useless.
While the parents have been given numbers of centre coordinators to the Zonal/ Guidance centres on their guidance brochures, the parents say most of the times the numbers are either switched off or go unanswered.
“I was not able to access my daughter’s profile on the website for a very long time. I tried calling up the helpline number to our zonal centre. While one of the numbers was non-functional, the other went unanswered,” a parent said on condition of anonymity.
Similarly, another parent said though he did not face any difficulty in filling the forms, he too couldn’t communicate with anyone for doubts regarding the forms as all numbers of the zonal centres provided in the brochures were unreachable.
Reacting to the issue, a source in the CAP Committee said, “Usually, we don’t ignore a single call coming from the parents. We answer all calls about queries that we get at our office. We will look into if and why the calls weren’t answered. However, for a few days, between the first and the second rounds, the helplines were closed as the issue regarding the seats at the minority schools and colleges was in the High Court. Now, the students wouldn’t face the problem.”
