Station masters protest at DRM Office for long pending demands

The movement has been organised to draw attention to these long pending issues, said Station Master's Association's General Secretary Dhananjay Chandratre.

Pune: The station masters at Pune railway division protested in front of the Divisional Railway Manager office for their long pending demands and slow work procedure at the division on Wednesday. For the first time in many years, such a movement was organised by the station masters.

The station master carries out the safety of railway passengers and they never agitated like this earlier. However, despite repeated demands, their problems are neglected by the ministry. The movement has been organised to draw attention to these long pending issues, said Station Master's Association's General Secretary Dhananjay Chandratre.

The protest was attended by President Sanjay Panchpatay, Secretary Amit Kumar, Vishwajit Kirtikar, KK Tiwari, AK Tiwari, Shakeel Inamdar, Ramesh Murugkar and others who participated in large numbers.

The list of demands handed over to Milind DeuoskarDo include: there should not vacate station master cadre, depute two station masters at most important stations, an announcer should be placed at all stations, promotion, there should be residence facility to a nearby city for those who have been deputed at a village, there should be toilet and bathroom facility at all stations, drinking water facility, clerk for ticket booking and other lists of demand.
