State NCC team finishes runners-up at AITSC

Cdt Komal Lale, Cdt Joslyn D’Sa, CSM Amrita Thapa, Cdt Aishwarya Bhoji and Cdt Tejashri Salunkhe were part of the team that won the gold medal in the ‘Health and Hygiene’ competition. Lale and Bhoji are from Pune.

PUNE: The Maharashtra Directorate girls team of the National Cadet Core (NCC) finished runners-up at the All India Thal Sainik Camp (AITSC). 

The AITSC is a 10-day NCC camp, which was held in New Delhi recently, in which 17 NCC directorates of the country participated. The camp entails various competitions like map reading, obstacle course, firing, health and hygiene and tent pitching amongst others.

The directorate team was further divided into smaller teams for the various competitions. Three such teams of the Maharashtra Directorate won individual medals.

Cdt Komal Lale, Cdt Joslyn D’Sa, CSM Amrita Thapa, Cdt Aishwarya Bhoji and Cdt Tejashri Salunkhe were part of the team that won the gold medal in the ‘Health and Hygiene’ competition. Lale and Bhoji are from Pune.

CQMS Pratibha Bandal, Cdt Dipali Gaikwad and Cdt Ankita Jadhav from Pune, along with teammates Cdt Nimisha Akerkar, Cdt Deepti Singh, and Cdt Supriya Takale won the silver medal in the ‘Obstacle Course’ competition. 

The third team, comprising Cdt Prajakta Salunkhe, Cdt Mona Belwalkar, Cdt Kalyani Kumare, Sgt Neha Shinde, CQMS Deepa Choubey and Cdt Sneha Nikam, won the bronze in the ‘Map reading’ competition.

Apart from this, Cdt Reema Choudhary won an individual gold medal in ‘Snapshooting’.
