ST drivers in for a new look

Pune: The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) drivers and conductors will soon don a new look. The Pune division has provided a new uniform to them after Transport Minister Divakar Raote decided to give State Transport (ST) drivers and conductors a makeover.

The new uniforms were distributed at the divisional office in a grand ceremony on Saturday. As many as 50 drivers and conductors of Swargate, Shivajinagar, Pune Station, Vallabhnagar Depot of Pimpri-Chinchwad, Bhor and Daund were present. During the ceremony Srinivas Joshi, Divisional Controller of Pune, Madhuri Misal, MLA and Babasaheb Dhumal of Shiv Sena were present. “Everyone has the right to keep the State Transport (ST) clean. ST is going to be smart, but will the traveller ever be smart? The ST depot and buses will never be smart unless the passengers become smart,” said Misal.

Joshi, said, “We keep trying to make everything clean. In the history of ST, for the first time stitched uniform are being giving. The uniform’s pride is ST department’s pride.
Everyone looks alike that’s why uniforms are being given.”
