ST’s Road Safety Week takes off on Jan 10

“We have instructed our drivers, conductors and administrative staff including traffic controllers to strictly adhere to the guidelines to avoid any mishaps or accidents,” said an official of MSRTC.

PUNE: The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) will observe January 10 to 25 as Road Safety Week and has planned various programmes including awareness drive among the staffers and drivers and will reach out to the commuters to get a feedback regarding their services. It also includes awareness about the reduction in the rates of accidents.

“We have instructed our drivers, conductors and administrative staff including traffic controllers to strictly adhere to the guidelines to avoid any mishaps or accidents. The drivers have been asked to follow traffic rules and maintain a speed limit,” said an official of MSRTC, Pune division. “The awareness drive will be organised at almost all important and prominent bus terminal across the state. The banners, stickers and posters are being displayed at every bus terminus as well as on the back of buses regarding safe and secure journeys. Besides this, special sessions by road transport experts and scholars have been organised for drivers at bus depots” he said.

Apart from this, the utility will conduct training and medical camps for drivers and conductors to address health issues if any.
