Pune: Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) Vice Chancellor Nitin Karmalkar has taken a step to connect with students through community radio ‘Vidyavani’.
Karmalkar will address queries of students on a programme titled ‘Prashna Tumche, Uttar Kulguranche’ (your questions, vice-chancellor’s answers). The first episode of the show was recorded on Friday and will be aired on November 1 at 3 pm.
The repeat show will be broadcast at 6 pm on the same day. It will be available on FM Band 107.4 MHz channel.
In the first episode, the VC answered questions related to the earn and learn scheme, university security, Jaykar Library, the education system in the country and various other queries raised by students. Through this communication process, the varsity expects that a lot of problems will be resolved.
“We have had a community radio on campus, which is being utilised by students to broadcast several programmes. Hence, I decided why not use this medium to reach students in large numbers.
