SPPU starts new courses on civic cleanliness, water supply

Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has introduced new courses on civic cleanliness and water supply starting from September 10. It has been stated that this is a first of its kind, that a university in the country has introduced these courses.

Pune: Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has introduced new courses on civic cleanliness and water supply starting from September 10. It has been stated that this is a first of its kind, that a university in the country has introduced these courses.

“So far, there were no post graduation degree courses available on water supply and civic cleanliness in the country. Hence, SPPU is the first to start the courses and the courses will be of two-year duration,” said Suresh Gosavi, Head of Department of Environment Science. 

SPPU has affiliated with IHE of the Netherlands that works on water issues across the globe and Unity Consultant in Pune. The course will impart advanced studies in water supply and civic cleanliness course. Students will get to receive course material online through videos made by experts from IHE and webinars. 

Similarly, on behalf of the Unity Consultants, Pune, few experts will also help the university provide information related to the curriculum to the students. Also, professors from Environment Science Department will teach the course to students.
