SPPU has signed an MoU with Babasaheb Ambedkar Research and Training Institute (BARTI) and it will be financially supporting the university for this course. The intake capacity for the course initially would be of 25 seats.

Director General of BARTI Kailash Kanase said, “Today’s youth carrying out research on the thoughts of Dr Ambedkar is a unique idea and the positive thing is that the University has taken initiative to promote the research.”

The Department and the course have been started in order to start an extensive discussion and research in the matters of national security and defense, policies about Pakistan and China, internal security and foreign policies, linguistic division of the states, changing form of national security and terrorism, and so on.

University Vice-Chancellor Nitin Karmalkar said, “Dr Ambedkar’s views on the aspects of national security is a novel subject meant for deep study. Along with his thoughts on social life, Ambedkar’s thoughts on national security too are very important. Thus, we are starting teaching and research activity on the same in the University. I think that with this initiative, SPPU has started a new trend in the field of education in the country.”
