SPPU to sign MoU with IGTR soon

IGTR is an initiative by the government of India to provide right stimulus for the growth of industry in the country.

Pune: The Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) Nitin Karmalkar on Wednesday announced that the university will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Indo-German Tool Room (IGTR), as per initiative of the Central government to build skill development courses on Wednesday.

IGTR is an initiative by the government of India to provide right stimulus for the growth of industry in the country.

The university will introduce short-term courses of four to five months related to technical courses like engineering, design, which will aid employment. The course will start on campus and will be open for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The university has not structured the number of courses which will be offered and the number of students intake for the course.

“We will decide how many courses will be applicable to it and students intake after we are clear about the infrastructure that is required to conduct the course. We will be informed about how many tools and instruments will be given to us after the MoU is signed,” said Karmalkar.
