SPPU to hold literature fest for senior citizens

Pune: In order to bring senior citizens out of the closet and give them a platform to express themselves, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has organised ‘Literature festival for senior citizens’ in the city at Sant Namdeo Hall on Sunday.

The festival has been organised in association with Association of Senior Citizens Organisation, Pune (ASCOP). 

Vice-chancellor (VC) of SPPU Nitin Karmalkar and President of all India Marathi Literature Festival Lakshmikant Deshmukh will inaugurate the festival at 10.30 am. 

Renowned literary scholar and president of Maharashtra state literature and culture committee Baba Bhand will be present as the chief guest and Pandit Vidyasagar, VC of Swami Ramanand Tirth Marathwada University will be guest of honour.  

The second part of the day will be followed by a session on ‘Is the moral value lost in the families?’ by M Dixit, renowned historian. After lunch, a Kavi sammelan will be held.
