SPPU ranks ninth on National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF). The university assures it will put in efforts to take the ranking to the fifth position. A total of 58 new institutes will be established under SPPU.

The targets include improvement of Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) from 30 per cent to 35 per cent in a given region under which universities have to define three districts they will work upon. The second is the improvement of inclusivity and equity (GER) in terms of class.

It promises to increase the capacity in sections like to increase placement cells from the current number of 439 which benefits at least 35,000 students to 850 placements cells, expecting to benefit as many as 1.10 lakh students.

In order to increase the merit of sports, SPPU will build an infrastructure that supports sports. Some other targets are to provide PhD to 900 students as so far 685 receive PhD degrees. SPPU will establish 10 innovation and incubation hubs.

Other plans include increasing beneficiaries of Earn and Learn scheme from 15,000 students to 50,000; increasing skill development courses.
