SPPU’s profs take up joint research work

PUNE: In a unique initiative, all professors of Philosophy Department at Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) have taken up a joint project to do research on the history, society, culture and various languages that were part of contemporary people’s living.

“There are many research works, which are currently ongoing in the department. But this is for the first time that all professors have taken a joint initiative to complete a research work in collaboration within a specific time period,” said Ravindra Muley, head of the philosophy department.

“Under this project, every professor at the department will take up small research works, which have to be completed within one year.

“These research topics will be based on societal conditions, history, philosophy, culture and various languages.

Through this initiative, the funds received to perform research will also be used wisely. After a year, findings of these researchers will be published in the form of books,” said Mulay.

Professors comprising Mohit Tandon, Shridhar Akashkar, Harish Navale, Karilemla, Ashish Sangle and Muzafar Malla will be participating in the research project.
