The changes focus on job generation and in-depth knowledge of Hindi language, said Head of Hindi Department Sadanand Bhosale. “There are many opportunities for students who are pursuing Hindi language as a subject. However, a proper channel to benefit students has to be formed,” said Bhosale.

According to University Grants Commission (UGC), a compulsory entrance test is a prerequisite for M.Phil or PhD courses. Thus, the department has set a question paper that will help students prepare for the main entrance test for aforesaid courses during the Masters degree itself.

Translation has been the widest sector and students in linguistic studies have huge opportunity in this area. Keeping this in mind, the department will avail of projects of government publications and non-government publications to students of the department as a learning aide in translations.

“The language departments in government offices require good and well-trained Hindi language candidates. In order to provide recruitments in government office, the university provides special training to students. Also, the department provides guidance to those willing to take competitive exams,” added Bhosale.
