Spl court to decide on bail plea of DSK on March 13

Pune: A Special Court will decide on the bail plea of builder DS Kulkarni (68) and his wife Hemanti (59) on March 13.
The couple is currently lodged in Yerwada Central Jail in connection with a case regarding cheating over 4,300 investors to the tune of Rs 325 crore.

The couple’s bail application came up for hearing on Monday before the court of Special Judge JT Utpat. However, the prosecution sought more time to file their reply. The judge postponed the hearing in the matter to March 13.

The couple and other office-bearers of the DSK Group were booked on October 28, 2017 by Pune police’s EOW and an FIR was registered with Shivajinagar police station after some fixed depositors alleged that the group had not repaid their money. The number of complainants reached 4,300 till February 16 this year.

After their interim protection was withdrawn by the Bombay High Court, a team from EOW nabbed the couple in Delhi on February 17 and brought them here.

The couple were in police custody till March 1 and since then have been lodged in the jail under judicial custody.
