Pune: Sahyadri Super Specialty Hospital, Deccan Gymkhana organised a special health screening camp for senior Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) officials, head of departments and senior police officials on Thursday.

The camp was inaugurated by Municipal Commissioner, Pune Municipal Corporation -Saurabh Rao in the presence of Additional Municipal Commissioner Sheetal Teli Ugale, Additional Municipal Commissioner Rajendra Nimbalkar, Assistant Medical Officer of Health Dr Anjali Sabne and Chairman, Sahyadri Group of Hospitals Dr Charudutt Apte. Speaking on the occasion Rao said most of the times we neglect going for routine check-ups until we see symptoms or fall ill.

“With a recent personal medical experience I realised that regular health check-up is the key to good health. It is mandatory for IAS and IPS officers above the age of 40 to undergo routine medical check-ups without fail since the lifestyle of these officers is very hectic and they find no time to pay attention towards themselves. I am sure such proactive initiatives and camps will help the officials to keep a watch on their health,” said Rao.

Dr Charudutt Apte said they will continue to work with PMC for well-being of their employees and citizens in general. The PMC can set an example with such camps and follow up on the reports as it would be beneficiary for the employees’ health.
