Six booked for creating nuisance, attacking cops

The six IT professionals were under the influence of alcohol

Pune: Six IT professionals have been arrested by Hadapsar police for going berserk under the influence of alcohol. The accused have also roughed up policemen. The incident occurred in upmarket Amanora Park locality of Hadapsar on 
Saturday night.

The accused have been identified as Utkarsh Sharma (24), Chandan Bhandari (24), Rohit Wangnu (30), Abhishek Jemini (24) and Amandeep Sharma, all residents of Amanora Park, and Rakesh Sharma (28), a resident of Kalewadi Phata in Wakad.

All six are software engineers.

The incident occurred when all the six accused were partying at the flat of Rohit Wangnu located at Fortune Towers building in Amanora township.

According to the information provided by Hadapsar police, on Saturday night, all six gathered to party at Wangnu’s flat and were having alcohol. 

While partying, they started creating a nuisance and were playing music at high volume. 

As their nuisance continued, other residents of the building reported the matter to police. However, when the two police constables reached the spot, they roughed them up.

Vishnu Pawar, Police Inspector, Hadapsar police station, said, “All six were heavily drunk and attacked the constables after they asked them to put off the music. 

More police officials were then called to control the inebriated accused, who were arrested by the police.”

All six have been booked for assault and rioting under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code.
