SIU’s SYMHEALTH 2018 takes off today

The conference attracts professionals from all verticals of the healthcare such as hospitals, insurance, IT, medical equipment and devices companies, medico-legal firms, NGOs, clinical research organisations, from all over India and abroad.

PUNE: The Faculty of Health and Biological Sciences (FoHBS), Symbiosis International University (SIU), has organised SYMHEALTH 2018 at SIU Lavale, Pune, from May 3 to 5. This is their 19th year to hold this mega event and every year more than 1,200 healthcare professionals attend this event. The theme for this year’s national conference is ‘Interdisciplinary Approach to Healthcare’.

The conference attracts professionals from all verticals of the healthcare such as hospitals, insurance, IT, medical equipment and devices companies, medico-legal firms, NGOs, clinical research organisations, from all over India and abroad. The conference has sessions chaired by a cohort of prominent speakers will provide opportunities for stakeholders to exchange insights and to share resources.

The theme of this year relates to the importance of applying integrative strategies to the theory and practice of health sciences. Dr Rajiv Yeravdekar, Dean of FoHBS, SIU, said, “The theme will underpin the need to draw on the full range of complementary streams and professions within the health sciences and beyond.”

“A day prior to the conference, i.e, on May 3, a unique event ‘Connexions’ is being organised. ‘Connexions’ presents an opportunity for delegates to learn about various skill sets and competencies, which need to be acquired by healthcare professionals,” Yeravdekar further said.

The conference will be inaugurated by Air Marshal Pawan Kapoor, Director General Medical Services (Air), on May 4.

VALEDICTORY CEREMONY
The valedictory ceremony will be held on May 5 in the presence of Girish Mahajan, Minister for Water Resources and Medical Education and Dr Ravi Wankhedkar, National President, Indian Medical Association.
