Officials of the Singaporean government company Surbana Jurong took an overview of various ongoing development work in the Pune metropolitan region along with officials of Pune Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (PMRDA) recent

Pune: Officials of the Singaporean government company Surbana Jurong took an overview of various ongoing development work in the Pune metropolitan region along with officials of Pune Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (PMRDA) recently.  

Surbana Jurong will assist the PMRDA in different development works and also the development of the first town planning scheme in Mahalunge. The officials visited various places including Lonavla, Pavana dam and other areas. Surbana Jurong’s scope of work in Pune metropolitan region includes a review of the existing regional plans and to provide recommendations in the form of an integrated master plan for future developments for the region.

The planning process will be a joint effort with PMRDA and other related authorities. The master plan will guide the physical development through planning for land use, infrastructure and transportation, as well as provide a sustainability framework and identify strategic projects.

PMRDA Chief Kiran Gitte said that area of town planning scheme, industrial development centres, special economic zones, western ghat, expressway and other places were visited by the team.

“These visits will help the team plan better for the master development plan. The concept plan will be submitted by the company to PMRDA by October and the final plan will be submitted by March 2019,” added Gitte.
