PUNE: Sinhgad Institute of Management and Computer Application (SIMCA) conducted an induction programme on August 1 and 2 for the new batch of MBA students.
Leena Deshpande, Vice-President (HR), Bharat Forge, Sangram Kadam, VP Marketing, KPIT and Amey Chauhan, Director Eminent Technologies were the guests present on the occasion.
Milind Marathe, Director SIMCA, introduced students to Sinhgad Institutes and SIMCA.
In her speech, Deshpande encouraged and motivated the students to gain knowledge,bring a change in thinking, attitude and perception.
Kadam focused on the enhancement of analytical and communication skills, while Chauhan guided the students with insights on building careers and focusing on self-empowerment, clarity of thought, personality development, staying updated with current affairs and becoming an extrovert.
After lunch, SIMCA professor Dr Swapnaja Tapdia conducted a session on ‘Placement Orientation’, followed by a session on Student Training Program (STP) by Prof Dilip Aher and Prof Dr Madhura Jagtap.
STP is a special training initiative by STES. This was followed by a panel discussion on ‘Gateway To Corporate Career’ by SIMCA alumni Shirish More (Infosys), Kumar Ankit (BSNL), Shrikant Jadkar (All Cargo Logistics), Saurabh Tayde (Victory Precision Pvt Ltd), Sagar Joshi (Capgemini), Prajwal Shetty (Tech Mahindra), Rohit Patil (InstaCream LLP), along with moderator Prof Nilesh Kate.
Day two began with Prof Dr Shruti Joshi speaking on ‘Celebrating 25 Years Of Sinhgad Institute’. This was followed by talks by Jotish Werulkar, Country Head Marketing, Quick Heal Technologies, Rajendra Ghare, Director HR, American Axle and Manufacturing, Shalabh Sharma, Assoc Process Manager, eClerx and Hrushikesh Kale, Partner, Ennovate Research Investment and Capital.
