SIH’s final round on March 2 & 3

PUNE: The final round of 36-hour software edition of the third edition Smart India Hackathon (SIH) will take place on March 2 and 3.

The non-stop product development competition has been organised by Persistent Systems, in association with Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), MIC, Rambhau Mhalgi Prabhodini, and i4C. It will be inaugurated by MHRD Prakash Javadekar, who is also the Chief Patron of Smart India Hackathon 2019.

This year, SIH has presented students with problems statements identified by 18 Union Ministries and for the first time from 96 private sector industries as well. Challenging lakh of students to develop digital solutions to address them, the final rounds of the Software Edition will be held in 48 nodal centres in India.

SIH 2019 SOFTWARE EDITION FACT FILE
- A total of over 32,000 submissions were received for this year’s Software Edition.
- 334 problem statements have been identified by government departments, ministries and private sector companies which span topics ranging from environment, space, information technology, health to education and social welfare.
- A total of 1,348 teams have been shortlisted this year for the grand finale and each team will consist of six students and two mentors from industry and/or academia.
