Sharad Rao’s bust to be put up in Talegaon Dhabade

“The bust will be installed at the campus of Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Socialist University in Talegaon Dabhade,” Babanrao Zinzurde said here on Thursday.

PIMPRI: A bust of veteran labour leader Sharad Rao will be unveiled by NCP President Sharad Pawar in Talegaon Dabhade on Saturday.

Municipal corporations and councils employees’ leader Mahabal Shetty will preside over the function.

“The bust will be installed at the campus of Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Socialist University in Talegaon Dabhade,” Babanrao Zinzurde, Working President of the Federation of Maharashtra State Municipal Corporations and Councils Employees’ Associations, said here on Thursday.

Zinzurde said that Sharad Rao who represented 18 lakh employees in 14 states in the country served as a labour leader for nearly 45 years. “The grateful employees have decided to acknowledge the labour leader’s contribution through this memorial,” he said. September 1 is the second death anniversary of the Mumbai-based trade unionist.
