Sharad Pawar to launch Sadanand More’s book

The book has been published by Sakal Publications. The book release function will be held at 11 am on Tuesday at Yashwantrao Chavan auditorium in Kothrud.

PUNE: The English translation of a famous Marathi book penned by Sadanand More will be released on May 1 by Nationalist Congress Party supremo Sharad Pawar. It throws light on the transitional historical period from Lokmanya Tilak to Mahatma Gandhi and is titled ‘Lokmanya to Mahatma’.

The book has been published by Sakal Publications. The book release function will be held at 11 am on Tuesday at Yashwantrao Chavan auditorium in Kothrud.

Sakal Media Group Chairman Pratap Pawar and its translator Abhay Datar will be present.

The book highlights clear ideological learnings and the ensuing tussle between the two great leaders. It is a reliable treatise on the relations between Tilak and Gandhi, who had different views. The book also gives a detailed account of the political scenario in Maharashtra during the freedom struggle. Eminent historian Ramchandra Guha has written the introduction to the book. More is an academician, who has studied, written and commented on the medieval spiritual literature.
