Senior GM, officials of AFK transferred

Other officers associated with the section where the blast took place, have been internally transferred. 

Pune: Several officers including the Senior General Manager (GM) of the Ammunition Factory Khadki (AFK) have been shunted out in the backdrop of the explosion which killed two employees. Sources say that some heads are likely to roll at the factory for not adhering to the safety guidelines.Senior General Manager CS Vishwakarma has been transferred to an establishment of the Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) in Kanpur. 

Other officers associated with the section where the blast took place, have been internally transferred. 

The transfers come days after a thorough safety audit of the AFK was carried out by the Kolkata-headquartered OFB.  Officials said the victims’ families will soon get Rs 10 lakh compensation each besides jobS for one member from both victims’ families.  

Ashok Dubal (52) and Maria Rock (48)  were transferring explosives from building number 171 of the F2 section to another building. Both were experienced and wore safety gear. 

The intensity of the explosion was such that their bodies were charred beyond recognition on June 15.
