Pune: Sena leaders submitted a letter to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday stating that they are against allowing construction on BDP land, except for the Shivsrushti project and the proposed Metro station.
The Sena insisted that the Bio-Diversity Plan (BDP) reservation should continue and action be taken against civic officials for failing to stop the spurt in illegal constructions and industries on BDP land.
PMC has proposed Shivsrushti on Kothrud BDP land. However, the State government has not yet cleared its stand on the land acquisition and compensation to be released to land owners whose land falls under BDP.
Speaking about the letter sent by Sena, Mayor Mukta Tilak said she has shared the concerns discussed during the all-party meeting held last Friday. The meeting was called by District Guardian Minister Girish Bapat. Tilak said Bapat has assured corporators that the State government will announce its decision within three months.
MLC Nilam Gorhe, State Minister Vijay Shivtare, Sena City Unit Chief Chandrakant Mokate, Mahadev Babar, party leader in PMC Ajay Bhosale and other party-bearers gave the letter to CM Fadnavis, District Guardian Minister Girish Bapat, Mayor Mukta Tilak and Municipal Commissioner Saurabh Rao on Saturday.
